More than 800 students across the country were recognized as winners with distinction by the national YoungArts program for their talents in a variety of artistic disciplines such as music, writing and visual arts. On Saturday, Feb. 1, high school teams representing 34 campuses with go head-to-head on day two of the Orange County Academic Decathlon at Westminster High School. The competition, organized by OCDE, will host 550 students as they demonstrate their brain power through a series of 30-minute multiple choice tests in subjects ranging from language and literature to mathematics and economics. More than 15 million free meals were served to children across California last summer through the state’s Summer Food Service Program and the Seamless Summer Option.
